Neil Briggs Says:
The 10 Man Field in this years FRA Corkscrew Challenge really pushed the pace at the start, was lucky to hold on. Gave maximum effort on the top section and just made it over the line in First Place.

Congratulations Neil. Just a small point (sorry to be anal about it!!)......I rode down the Corkscrew Monday morning and noticed that the "KOM" finish line on the asphalt was approx 40metres short of Montacute Rd intersection. This was obviously for safety reasons, however this would add approx 9secs to your time to be consistent with the finish line ('T Junction that meets Montacute Road') and other times posted on the Cycle2Max website..........assuming, of course, that the FRA Challenge started at the bridge.

Aaron, yes earlier finish lines was for saftey reasons. The official finish time was 9:02 and Neil has added 3 seconds to this time for C2Max purposes. You obviously didn't see how fast he was going at the finish if you think he would take 9 seconds to ride from the line to the to junction (about 25 metres in my view).

I came second to Briggsy by a couple of seconds, and my Polar says I was doing 25km/hr across the line. This is near enough to 7m/s, and given that he was going quicker than me (damn it) he would have covered the 25m in 3 secs. The OCCC have got the time about right I reckon, and they couldn't have us sprinting into Montacute Rd!
