And with more breaking news.... The website link has been updated with all of the details for the 2011 ride... Most importantly riders must register by October 31st to receive their Ride Like Crazy jersey in time for the ride. Although some of us have a collection of jerseys the Ride Like Crazy jersey represents that much more. Its about wearing it with pride and saying "I am doing something to help fight cancer, and I am proudly displaying the sponsors who have contributed so much towards this event to make it possible...." Looking forward to it again....

Gday team thanks for the interest for the 2011 event. I can tell you a couple of important things: (1) we are about to announce our profit for the 2010 event. slight delays with finalising the finances but it is HUGE. (2) I have it from a good source that planning is under way for 2011. We will advise as soon as it is confirmed. In the meantime, safe riding in this below average weather and I look forward to keeping in touch. Dave Scutchings Organiser RLC 2009/2010

You guys. Not that we claim to be any better at organising events, however...... It might be that some of you are interested in taking part in RLC 2011......... No need to commit now, simply send your email address to [[email protected]]linkand I will happily put you onto our database..... The more interest we have, the more sponsors will be keen to be involved, the more you will receive in the riders bags etc etc. I look forward to hearing from you. Dave

18 Jan 2010 2:25 PM posted in Ride Like Crazy - an overwhelming success!

Monday 18th January and everything has quietened down...................... A quick message to update everyone with expanded details to come out later when we have settled down a bit. About 1750 riders (1250 long/500 short) took part in Ride Like Crazy 2010. The few showers on the day did not dampen the overall enthusiasm and if the number of positive emails we are receiving is an indicator, then most people had a thoroughly enjoyable day. We are extremely appreciative of the 120-150 volunteers that gave their time to make the event a success. Without them we would be nowhere. Additionally the sponsors who contributed made sure that (a) the event could go ahead (b) everyone could receive food and drink and (c) that the maximum amount of money could go to the charities. We thank them and ask that you consider supporting them where possible.. link Personally I was disappointed to see a number of riders hanging around at the start of the event, clearly on very expensive bikes and wearing the gucci kit, and clearly having short arms and long pockets and being too tight to pay $100 towards the charity to participate. And then when they rode amongst the main peleton it was clear that they were saying "Hey look at me on my fancy bike!". But hey, free loaders are everywhere unfortunately...... Finally, for anyone who reads this and has either positive or negative feedback I would be very appreciative if you could send an email to [[email protected]]link because guaranteed, if we are going to do it again next year we want it to be bigger and better........... thanks again
