I purchased the RS 80's from wiggle a few months ago. Well packed, only cost me $650 on 20% sale. Ride much better then the training wheels that i had-very smooth. I havnt riden on anything else so cant comment on what they are like compared to the more expensive wheels. But for that price it was too hard to resist.

5. Prices where set this year when the Aussie Dollar was at 60cents. Which puts a US$6000 bike at A$10,000 When the dollar dropped everyone was VERY quick to increase their prices and blame the GFC (regardless of when they actually purchased the products). but now the dollar is back up around 80-84, I havnt seen any shop drop their prices - including new models that they are ordering in. Here is a thread - Cycling Tips http://www.cyclingtipsblog.com/2009/08/support-your-lbs-2/#comments that has been discussing this issue over the last couple of days. There are also a great number of cycling tips. edited by Marc on 19/08/2009

I am all for supporting the local trade, but when you can buy tyres (and other parts) from PBK and wiggle (UK internet stores) for less then half what you pay here, then it is hard to stay loyal to the local guys. This is especially true when the local shop has to order something for you. Most of the time I can get it quicker from the UK and delivered to my front door, rather then waiting for the local shop to get it and then have to drive to pick it up. Of course with bikes there is the whole warranty issue, but for the savings in the top end models.....

Great post Garrin. I am also looking at some aero's for racing and tossing up between clinchers and tubulers (I know there are probably 100's of posts on this topic, but i thought it might be relevant to Brett as well). Most people say if i want racing wheels go with Tubs, and as Garrin says if you get a puncture its all over regardless, but when doing a 100km race (or alpine classic) and you get a flat on tubs how do you get back, or do you just wait for a sad wagon to pick you up? (I am new to racing) Cheers

I have the nightpros from T7 - use them for MTB at night on single tracks and they light up everything fine. The battery is heavy and for me it only lasts 1hr on dual - i might have a slightly different model to the ones previously stated?? Friends have the Ayup's and they light up the place like day time. the annoying thing with that is, if they are behind you and you turn around, you loose all night vision....but then i am just jealous ;). the Ayups come in a set of 4 or 2 - 2 on handle bars and 2 on helmet - which is great for MTB, but overkill for road riding.
