Also on the Sunday (and Friday and Saturday) of the classic is the Australian Mountain Bike Championships at Eagle MTB Park just near Eagle on the Hill. The Sunday has the awesome Down Hill racing program which you have to see to believe. The riding skill and guts of these guys is fantastic. Last year during the TDU I think there was a group ride some mornings with Phil Liggett. Does anyone know if that is on this year?
